Just a very quick update today. I am about to hit a milestone!
When I weighed in this morning, my weight was 250.6 lb. I have not been below 250 since sometime in the mid-1970s. It feels amazing.
I expect that tomorrow or the next day, I will leave the 250s behind, and get into the 240s. I am so happy to be saying that.
I lost a lot of weight in mid-March through mid-April. From the second half of April, through May and into June, I was really stalled out on weight loss, holding steady, or yo-yoing a bit. Maybe up 2 pounds, then down 3 and so on. It is frustrating when you are not eating and not losing weight. Thing is, all along I could feel my body losing fat. I mean, I could feel bones that I had never felt before. I felt that my belly was more “squishy” instead of solid, meaning to me that fat was going away. The pounds were not decreasing, but my body was getting leaner.
Starting around the 2nd week of June and continuing now, I have been dropping pounds pretty rapidly again, and I am sure glad to see that. I think I have a fasting/feasting schedule in place now that will keep the weight loss flowing. Previously, between fasts, I started doing a one meal per day regimen and I believe that is what stalled me out. Now, I am constantly changing things, and hopefully, that will keep the weight loss flowing!
Anyway, here is my body composition data from this morning. I do share this information (almost) daily with my Patrons on my Patreon page. If you like getting this kind of data on a nearly daily basis, why not sponsor the site on Patreon?
Great Job Bob Martin!
Thank you Randy! I will feel so good once I love another (less than a) pound and go below 250! It is my short term goal right now! 🙂
Very encouraging to me Bob, I am working on a juice fast now due to your encouragement!
Thank you James! It is also encouraging to me as well, and will kepe me pushing forward! Good luck on your juice fast!
Good job young man , just curious , what exercises are you doing Bob while your losing weight ? Cardio ? Swimming ? Walking ? All of the above , keep up the great work ð
Thanks! I am working hard at the weight loss these days. When I started doing fasting and such it was not about weight loss, it was about reversing diabetes. But, now that I have accomplished that, the weight loss is what it is all about now, and it is really working!
I think you probably know from this site, I follow Dr. Jason Fung pretty closely. He has a lot of expertise about all of this. Recently I heard him on a podcast. He talked about fasting, and he talked about exercise. He said that fasting is for losing fat. Exercise is for gaining muscle. If you are looking to lose fat, don’t worry too much about the exercise, concentrate your efforts on the fasting. If you are looking to build muscle, focus on exercise.
When I heard that it made a lot of sense to me, and I slowed down on exercise and refocused mostly on fasting. Right now, I mostly walk, but not every day. When I refocused like this, I really started losing weight again.
That’s awesome , maybe after you reach your target weight , wouldn’t hurt to get back into a light exercise routine , best of luck my friend , cheers ð
Exactly, Lorne! Maybe even before I reach my target weight. Right now, I am concentrating my efforts on losing fat, though! To be honest, I don’t even know what my target weight is, I have not decided yet. When I get closer I will have a better idea of where I want to be.
keep it up , your doing good Bob..
Thank you, Phil. 🙂

Awesome Bob, great job I am so proud of you, amazing to be closer to your goals!
I try to do the best I can, Terry. With supportive friends it is much easier to do! Thanks.
Keep it up, Bob (or I should say, keep it down ð
Ha ha.. I like that! Keep it down… thanks, Elsie.
Bob Martin You’re welcome, Bob.
Thank you, Marjorie!
“Bob,always remember…”Sacrifice for a goal”.
That’s a good thought, thank you for sharing.
That’s really great! Just think how awesome it will be when you reach your desired weight.
It is hard to even imagine it Randy!
Nice work mate… gotta feel fantastic!!! Very happy for you!!! Congratulations!!!!!
Thank you Bob. You are right, it does feel great! this morning, I was 250.2, I am very confident that I will break into the 240s tomorrow!
This is definitely good.
Yep. For the past couple of days I have been stuck though, and still have not broken below 250! It has to happen soon though!
Perhaps a cheat day is in order, so your body doesn’t think it is starving. Leche Flan, perhaps?
Hi Tim. One thing is for sure, I don’t do cheat days. I know how to keep my body from thinking it’s in Starvation mode. That’s not really an issue.
Great job….happy for you…
Thanks Jay. Have a great weekend.
Well done Bob!
Thank you, I still have plenty more work to do, but I’m on the way.
Just take it bit by bit, I lost 6 ibs in weight in one month just by cutting out cartons of orange juice, I had to as I have diabetes
I used to have diabetes. I have reverse it now though through a huge change in diet and weight loss. I lost 30 lb in 1 month. So, I’ve been very busy.
Really? well I’m only borderline diabetes, and my last blood test 2 weeks ago showed a lower sugar count so I must be doing things right, glad you’re reversed now
Thank you Rene!
Great work, Bob!!
Thank you Kate! Hope you are doing well!

Thank you very much, nice to hear from you. I’m doing great and I appreciate your kind words.
Congratulations! Wow we are at the same weight right now. I’ve lost 10 pounds so far. With IF its a miracle. The only negative affect this has had on me is how much I despise people selling all this other crap for weight loss, beating around the bush when it really doesn’t have to be as hard as they make it out to be. Thank you Bob!
Thanks I wonder. Well, I still have a long way to go, but I’m really on the right path. You are right fasting is so simple, you just don’t eat! People selling all of these products supplements and everything else to make you lose weight, it’s really a waste of money, because the solution is so simple, at least for me. I’m really happy with this lifestyle and I’m enjoying it a lot.
It’s working Bob. Thank you.
I am really happy for you Alexander! Good luck on the path forward!
