Of people I talk to about fasting, probably the most frequent question I hear is:
Aren’t you hungry while fasting?
Truth is, that you don’t feel hungry very often while fasting. The hunger you do feel is relatively minor, and happens only the first couple of days, at least in my experience.
When I tell this to people, I can tell that the vast majority of the people that I tell this to are either very skeptical or they just don’t believe me at all. Some people have come right out and told me that I am lying.
Funny thing is, the people who ask me that question are people that have never fasted, or only fasted for a short time years ago.
On the other hand, if I talk to people who do fast on a regular basis, or watch their videos on YouTube, read what they write, etc., they ALL say the same thing that I experience, that hunger is not a big issue.
Yesterday, I was watching a video on this very topic. The guy had some good formation, both first first hand information that he had experienced while fasting himself, medical studies, and even some information from Dr. Fung. I found it a very good video. If you are interested, give it a view here:
So, when people that have all done extended fasting say that hunger is not a problem and people who have never done long term fasting say that hunger would be terrible… who are you going to believe?
For me, the answer is simple!
