I was watching a video on YouTube the other day. I had YouTube set up to autoplay a related video after the one I was watching finished. Anyway, I was working and just listening to the video while I worked.
After my video was completed, a new video started and it was called “The Mathematics of Weight Loss” done by Ruben Meerman. I listened and at first, was not thinking much about what was being said. Meerman started talking about the chemical composition of body fat, and how those chemicals would break down.
Here is the video:
I find that at around the 16 Minute mark it is very interesting when he says that when body fat breaks down, it becomes 84% gas, and 16% water.
When I am fasting, particularly on a longer fast (like the 10 days fast that I am doing right now), I get a lot of gas. Meerman says that the gas from the broken down fat is breathed out, but I think that those gases are leaving my body through flatulence. I have a lot of flatulence during fasting. I also have increased urination during fasting. Losing fat would account for both of these experiences.
I find this fascinating! What do you think?
