Tomorrow I am having eye surgery in the morning. It is an outpatient procedure, so I will be home by early afternoon.
I am on Day 4 of a 5 day fast right now, but I think I will eat today in preparation for the surgery. I want my body to be strong for that kind of thing. I feel strong anyway, but better to be sure. I already skipped breakfast, so perhaps I will have lunch and dinner today, or just dinner, just depends on how I feel. I am kind of used to not eating now, so the thought of eating too many meals kind of makes me feel sick, to be honest.
I lost a pound yesterday, am right under 270 now. Happy to be there! I started at 296 when I first started doing Keto in combination with IF, that was Feb 14. Today I am 269.8, so I am down 26.2 pounds in like a month and a half. Not bad. Most important thing is, though, that I really feel good. Whatever the weight is, if you feel good and have positive things going on with your health, it’s golden.
About 3 days ago, I decided to shave off part of my beard. I started growing the beard again around Feb 1 or so, and it was starting to get kind of long, or should I say unruly. I decided to go for the Walter White (Breaking Bad) look and do a goatee instead. Anyway, when you have a somewhat out of control beard that is getting a bit long, and you shave it, it is a tough shave. I resorted to using a straight razor and I cut part of my cheek fairly seriously. I mean not life-threatening or anything, but it left a good cut/scab on my face. In the past, when my diabetes was even fair or for sure if it was bad, this would have taken a minimum of a month or 6 weeks to heal. This happened just like 3 days ago, and the wound is almost gone already, it shocks me. I can really see some serious changes in my body. Seriously good.
So, overall, I have to say that I am feeling great these days. Lots of great changes to my body, health-wise. I feel that Keto has been great for me, but it took a serious step up when I mixed in the fasting!
