Well, as of today it is 1 month since I started doing Intermittent Fasting.
How are the results? Get ready…
I lost 16 pounds in the past 4 weeks!
As I have said, doing the fasting was not really about losing weight, it was about controlling diabetes. That said, I am certainly very happy with the results! Losing 16 pounds in 28 days is, in my view, a great accomplishment!
How am I feeling?
To be honest, I feel great. I have a ton of energy! I am never hungry… well, maybe a little hungry from time to time, but it passes quickly.
When I first started Intermittent Fasting, I had a 5-hour eating window, between 2 PM and 7 PM every day. From 7 PM until 2 PM the next day I did not eat. However, I was enjoying the fasting so much, and not feeling hungry that a couple weeks ago I changed my fasting times. Instead of a 5-hour eating window each day, I now have an only 1-hour eating window each day.
So, now, I am eating between 6 PM and 7 PM daily, and I am fasting from 7 PM until 6 PM the next day! I am fasting 23 hours per day and eating the only dinner each day.
I have never felt like “cheating” or eating at times when I was not supposed to eat. Every diet that I have ever tried in the past would always cause me to want to cheat! Not this time, though.
A Lifestyle
As I have said before, this is not really a “diet” as in “being on a diet”. This is my new lifestyle, which I believe will continue forward for the long run. I enjoy the short eating window. It gives me extra time during the day. It makes me think less about food and eating and enables me to focus on other things that are far more important.
I had heard in the past about Intermittent Fasting, but I really did not think I could do it. I am amazed at how easy it is!
Congratulations!
Thanks!
Indeed Congrats Bob you inspire me!
Thank you very much, James! Greatly appreciated!
Congratulations on moving toward your goals. I might try the intermittent fasting myself.
Thank you Mike! My main goal was good diabetes control, but weight loss is a very nice fringe benefit!
I’m proud of your dedication. ð
Thank you, Charles!
good job bob
Thank you Joffy, I appreciate that!
Congrats and God Bless!
Thanks, Jason!
Congrats Bob great job
Thank you so much, Ray.
Welcome buddy well deserved
good job! and are there restrictions when you do eat from 2-7pm?
Thank you Millet. Yes, when I eat, I eat a Ketogenic diet. High Fat (70% of my calories), Medium Protein (about 25% of my calories) and very low carbs (about 5% of my calories).
wow, sounds like my kind of diet! padayon, Bob!
Ha ha… it is working very well for me. The reason that I did this is not really to lose weight, but to get excellent control over diabetes. The fact that it is effective for weight loss is a great side-benefit, though.
At this rate Bob you will be a shadow of your former self by Christmas. Incidentally in that case, who will play Santa in Davao?
Well, we shall see how it goes, Jim. It is not about losing weight, that is just a good side benefit. My main goal is great control of diabetes, which I have achieved. Don’t worry about Santa…. my Santa company has a number of Santa’s working for me.. so that will be covered. 🙂
good to go Bob..
Thank you Phil.
Congrats Bob, keep it up!!
Thank you Dana.
Nice!
I found it aided my mental clarity and drive, just smashed through a lot of things I needed to do when I was utilizing I.F but I also had a sleeping issue with it that I didn’t overcome at the time, but I feel I can get over it this time around because I have less ‘stuff’ filling up my time. Did you face any sleep/circadian rhythms problems at all?
I have found that I am sleeping much better since I started IF. Sorry to hear it was an issue for you. Hopefully it will not be a problem next time you try it.
Do you drink bulletproof coffee while fasting?
I used to, but I have not been drinking so much lately. I don’t have any problem with doing that though.
I need to try it without any BPC. I drink BPC in the AM before I do crossfit training. Then 4 hrs later another BPC..then I eat 1 meal at dinner time.
I found that as I went on with IF, the need for BPC became less and less.
Congrats!! Well done!!
Thank you, Kate.
Great news, Bob. Keep it going!
Thank you so much Denzil.
That is awesome, Bob!!! I need to get on your bandwagon. 😀
Thank you Bob.
Good job Bob on your nutritional healing I went on a 36 hour fast , not to bad, a little hungry so now im going to try a 40 hour fast. Gave Jimmy Moore book to my brother who is huge hope he tries this program. I’ve tried many diets over past few years but this one is so satisfying. I too got off all meds so happy about that.326/170
That’s really great work Pam. Congratulations on your accomplishment. I agree with you this way of life it’s very satisfying, I’m never really hungry while fasting. Even if I do get a little hungry, it’s only a little bit, not great hunger. I’m feeling great, and it sounds like you are too.
