Recently, when I went to my eye doctor (Dr. Sy), I noticed a medically supervised fitness center in the hospital where her office is. It looked pretty nice – modern exercise equipment, nice facility, etc. So, I decided to stop in and talk to the people there to find out what kinds of services they were offering.
The people were very nice, and also helpful and informative. It was nice to talk to them and I was impressed that they had a lot of medical knowledge.
A few days later, I went in to see my cardiologist, Dr. Barcinas, and I asked him if it would be OK to start doing some workouts at this facility. I wanted to make sure that I had recovered from heart surgery long enough before starting this type of exercise. My doctor said that he was not familiar with the facility, and he wanted me to go talk to another cardiologist, Dr. Faderan, who practices in the same building where the fitness center is located. He figured that this other doctor would be familiar with the offerings there, and their level of medical expertise.
So, anyway, today I will be seeing Dr. Faderan, and hope to get the go-ahead from him to begin fitness training soon. Dr. Faderan will be looking at the 2D Echo test that I recently completed and using those results to determine the safety of starting on an exercise program.
I think that he will give me the green light! I hope so anyway!
