Well, I have now made it past Day 3 of my ten days fast. I have to say, Day 3 was sure a lot better and easier than Day 2. Day 2 presented only minor problems, but Day 3 was even better! At the publishing time of this post, I will have been fasting for a total of 85 hours! I sure never thought I’d be able to do that! As you know, my goal is to fast for 10 days, and I have really no doubt in my mind that I can do it.
Activity During Day 3
I had significantly more activity during Day 3 than previously. I had to go to the Medical Lab today (no emergency, this was pre-scheduled) to have some blood tests in preparation for some doctor appointments next week. Going to the lab and taking care of things did mean that there was some walking, doing things and such that increased my physical activity. On Days 1 and 2 I was mostly doing office work and such, so not that much physical activity. It felt good to get out and do some things, and I did not have any kind of weakness, tiredness or anything of the sort.
So Much Energy
I am really a bundle of energy while fasting, and Day 3 was no exception. I feel myself not wanting to do “time-wasting” stuff like watching TV or those kinds of things. I have a strong urge to do productive things. In fact, I find that I finish the office work that I need to take care of and I just stay in my office desperately trying to find more things to do!
In the past, when I would finish my work, I would tend to go mess around doing unproductive things.
One possible problem
Last night when I checked my blood sugar it was looking low, just 84. However, I made it through the night without incident. I will have to monitor closely today.
This morning my blood sugar is at 79. I feel fine though, not showing any signs of hypoglycemia.
Dizziness Followup
I reported that I had experienced some dizziness during Day 2. No more dizziness during Day 3. My blood pressure medication was adjusted, and it totally eliminated the dizziness problem! Glad to have that out of the way! I continue to monitor my blood pressure!
Weight
275.8. Lost .8 pounds.
Overall Thoughts
I am really enjoying doing this fast. I am seeing signs that my body likes it too. My wife told me that she can see that my toenails were looking much more healthy. Before they were very dry, cracked and brittle. Remember, I have been doing intermittent fasting for over a month, so even though I have been doing continuous fasting only a few days, these improvements are already showing. I feel better than I have in decades, so that is a good thing.
I was joking with my wife that I feel so good that when my 10 days is up, I might decide to just keep going. I don’t think I’ll do that, though. I prepared myself to fast for 10 days, and that is what I will do. I do think, though, that after I finish this prolonged fast and do IF for a couple of weeks, I will probably go back to extended fasting for a round of 21 or 30 days next time. Of course, I have to see how the rest of this 10 day fast goes first, though, before deciding!
That is my report for the completion of Day 3. Tune in again tomorrow for my Day 4 results!

Sounds interesting I might try this.
Bob Martin
I would recommend doing some research in advance, but give it a try! It is not really very hard to do, and I am finding it rewarding.
George Jensen
Thanks Bob.I have to avoid the smell of lempo n chickn joy
Bob Martin
Ha ha… I have actually found that once I got into the routine of fasting, the smell of foods that I like has not bothered me at all. I will think “oh, that smells nice” but no temptation to eat it. 🙂

I was reading that once we hit the 12 hour mark the body burns that hard to get fat
Bob Martin
When your body burns fat for fuel, that is called Ketosis. I already had my body into ketosis before starting the fast, and I never felt hunger, because my body fat is there whenever my body is hungry. If you start out by doing a ketogenic diet for a couple weeks before fasting, you will already be in ketosis, and your body will not long for food, the food is there for the taking.
George Jensen
OK i will look into that Ketosis diet
George Jensen
lol no more bread or rice
Bob Martin
George Jensen Exactly.
George Jensen

My wife going to be confused when cooking for me!
Bob Martin
George Jensen My wife was concerned about it when I started, but she is really behind it now, she has seen the results.

George Jensen
Bob,Your harts not affected by your fasting?
Bob Martin
George Jensen No problems with my heart. My heart is doing very well now.
George Jensen

How about Cofee with your diet?
Bob Martin
I drink coffee a couple times a day. In fact, I drink bulletproof coffee, which is encouraged on a keto diet. It is coffee with coconut oil and butter in it.
George Jensen
im in mindano and iv not been able to locate coco oil here yet
Bob Martin
What? I am in Mindanao and I can buy coconut oil at any grocery store I go to.
George Jensen
like cooking oil?
George Jensen
Palm oil?
Bob Martin
Yes, coconut oil can be for cooking or other uses.
Bob Martin
NO, not palm oil! Coconut oil!
George Jensen
ok so then i look into the cooking oils for this?
Bob Martin
Yes, it will be with the cooking oils.
George Jensen

George Jensen
Thanks Bob.
Bob Martin
You are most welcome, George. Good luck to you.

CBG at 79 isn’t bad……I would start to worry when it hit 70 (ask your MD for sure), but it all depends on how you are feeling.
Bob Martin
In the past, when I was even in the 80s I would have hypoglycemia. Right now, though, I am in the 70s and no bad symptoms. I think my body has adjusted to a lower blood sugar. It does vary from person to person.
Michael Manuel
Best wishes Bob. Hope it works for you. I admire your determination.
Bob Martin
Thank you Michael, I appreciate that.
Maddog Bruce
Good luck!
Bob Martin
Thank you Bruce, it’s going very well, I don’t think I’m going to have any problems doing this. I’ve already finished date for, and I’m in today 5 already.
Maddog Bruce
Ive often thought about doing this.problem is i tend to be hypoglycemic.
Bob Martin
I am diabetic, so hypoglycemia is a concern, but it really has not been a problem. For the last 2 days my blood sugar has been in the seventies and eighties, and I’m feeling fine.
Maddog Bruce
Im seriously thinking of giving it a go. The doctors who are helping me with my back also have 21 day prigram im thinking of trying. Highly restricted food intake an no alcohol. ð
Bob Martin
I am already considering doing a longer fast next time. I don’t find it hard, and I’m actually enjoying it period I can feel my body cleansing itself. I’m seeing a lot of signs that I’m in Better Health now.
Maddog Bruce
A friend of mine does 1 or 2 21 day fasts every year and loves them.also lost a ton of weight.
Bob Martin
I’m thinking that I’m going to start fasting 15 days a month, so half the time will be fasting. During the times when I’m eating, I will still do intermittent fasting, eating only one or possibly two meals a day.
Ray Bacon
Best wishes Bob. I watch the video presentation from the Doctor Who explains about the fasting process. Very inspiring and I will follow up on that myself. I have done a ten-day fast, using a lemonade made with maple syrup and, then purging with salt water daily, called Master Cleanse. I’ve had great luck with that several times. But I would like to modify that according to this new information. Thanks again
Bob Martin
Hi Ray, thank you very much. Good luck with your plans. I think it is a great thing to fast like this, it has been beneficial to me.
Belinda Benedicto
