I think everyone knows what a cheat day is and I am sure almost everyone who has had a diet has experienced having a cheat day at least once in their life. Sometimes my cheat day even turns in to a cheat week. Ha ha ha. Once I start eating something that I should not eat be eating, like sweets and food with more than 20 grams of carbohydrates, it becomes so hard to stop and eat the right food again. One time, I decided to have a cheat day and for breakfast, I ate about 10 or more strawberry pop tarts and I was still hungry and ate some more food. I was craving all these other sweets and other food for the whole day. I wanted to eat food like Chocolate cake, ice cream, donuts, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and much more. It would then be very difficult to start doing the diet again. It would take me about a week or two just to eat the right food again and sometimes just when I start eating the right food for the diet, I then start eating some sweets and mess it up again.
I used to have a cheat day like once a month but I am thinking of not having any more cheat days because I lack self-discipline and I usually give in to the temptations easily. My Dad mentioned to you guys that I just got back from the US. I was there for about two to three months (Late May-Mid August) and in the last week or two that I was there, I wanted to enjoy and taste the food there because most of the food in the US, you can not get it here in the Philippines. So I guess I could say that I had a cheat week because it lasted for more than a day. I also did not work out or do any exercises at that time which led to me gaining more or less 10 pounds which I have not lost yet. I am currently trying my best to lose the weight that I had gained by playing basketball a lot with my friends and jogging.
At that time, I thought that it was worth it because I was able to taste the food in the US and I also thought that it was gonna be very easy to lose all the weight that I had gained from the cheat week but now I am regretting all that. I have been trying to get back into ketosis for the past two to three weeks but it has been very difficult for me. I try to eat the right food for the diet but all these cravings start popping up in my head and I start eating some sweets. I would not suggest that you guys have cheat days unless you guys have self-control and can get back into diets easily.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading and do not forget to think twice before you cheat ๐
